About
Purpose of this Nonprofit Capacity Building Blog
This blog helps you improve your nonprofit capacity building by providing articles, opinions, commentary and many related resources. The blog is for a general audience, including beginners and those advanced in capacity building.
Other Library blogs are about certain functions as they occur in all types of organizations, for example, about Boards, leadership, strategic planning, marketing, human resources and training. Each of those blogs is listed in the sidebar in each blog. This nonprofit blog might write about one or more of those functions, too, but always about the function(s) in a nonprofit organization. (Note that there is another Library blog primarily about nonprofit Fundraising. The link to that blog is on the sidebar of each page of each blog.)
The benefits of nonprofit capacity building are many, including that it:
- Enhances the nonprofit’s ability to work toward its mission.
- Reduces costs because all resources are fully utilized and efficiently aligned.
- Ensures the long-term viability of the organization.
- Builds credibility among stakeholders, including clients, funders and collaborators.
- Makes work more meaningful and rewarding for members of the Board and staff.
