What is the typical cost of credit repair services?

My sister wants to move out of her shared New York apartment and rent a nice studio closer to work.

However, most decent apartments require a good credit score for approval which she sadly does not have because of a couple of missed credit card payments. She’s conflicted between which approach to take to improve her credit score: DIY or Credit Repair Services. We’ve weighed the time commitment and effort of DIY against the potential speed and expertise of a credit repair service, but the cost is a major factor. Can someone tell me when comparing do-it-yourself credit repair to credit repair services, what are the associated costs for each option?

I want to help her create a budget and choose the approach that best suits her financial situation and desired timeline for improving her credit score.

DIY credit repair costs nothing except your time. u can dispute errors online for free. credit repair services usually charge monthly fees which i remember nearly ($50-$150) or a flat fee but they can’t do anything you can’t do yourself

With DIY, your sister will need to spend time reviewing her credit reports, fixing any errors and building good credit habits. It’s free, but it takes time to see results. Credit services charge money sometimes over $1,000 and might promise quicker results

But there’s no instant fix for bad credit keep that in mind

repairs involves pulling credit reports disputing errors, and making timely payments all free. Credit repair services charge for similar steps, often without guaranteed results. Better to save the money for rent!

Credit repair services can be convenient but pricey anywhere from $50 to $150 a month.

Unless she needs super-fast results DIY is probably the smarter budget choice.
