Should I use Credit Karma Tax for filing or not?

I've been using Credit Karma for monitoring my credit, and I recently discovered they now offer free tax filing. It seems like an amazing offer but I want to confirm it's both legitimate and reliable before I file my tax return with them.
  • Is it truly 100% free, or might there be hidden fees?
  • How does it stack up against other tax filing services in terms of performance and features?

Used it last year and had no issues. Got my return in about 10 days. If your taxes are simple it’s great. If u have got side hustles or complex deductions, maybe not

Tried it last year. It was easy to use and my refund came on time. But their customer service is basically non existent if you have any issues so keep that in mind

Used it last year with no issues. Simple W2 return, got my refund in 7 days. Wouldn’t trust it if I had anything more complicated though.

I’ve been using Credit Karma’s free tax filing service for the past couple of years, and from my experience, it’s completely legit with no hidden charges.

The only downside is that if you have a more complex return like multiple state filings or specialized deductions it might not be quite as user-friendly as some of the paid platforms.

They got bought out by Cash App (Block), and it's stayed completely free since then. Just a heads up it doesn’t cover every situation like multi-state returns or foreign income.

Credit Karma Tax was acquired by Cash App (Block) and it’s remained completely free ever since. Just keep in mind it doesn’t handle every tax situation things like multi-state filings or foreign income aren’t supported.

It’s legit no hidden fees. But it’s really geared toward straightforward tax situations.
If you freelance or have property in more than one state it might not cover all the forms you need

I’ve been using them for the past 3 years. I file W-2s 1099-INTs, and claim a few charitable deductions haven’t paid a dime.

They don’t offer phone support but the help section is pretty solid.

I used to work in tax prep, and honestly, Credit Karma Tax (now Cash App Taxes) works well for most folks.

Just don’t count on it to walk you through every detail if your tax situation’s complicated.

I filed with them in 2022 and got my refund quicker than I ever did using TurboTax. The interface is pretty plain but that refund came through fast

Used them for the first time this year had a W-2 HSA and state return. Took me around 30 minutes to file smooth process with zero glitches. Definitely legit.

I ended up switching from Credit Karma because they don’t support Form 1116 (foreign tax credit). Probably not a big deal for most folks but definitely something to double check

My taxes are pretty simple just a W-2 and some student loan interest. Credit Karma handled everything smoothly.
Would absolutely use it again 10/10

Filed with them last year and they actually flagged a mistake I made on my state return. I would’ve totally missed it. So yeah, they’re the real deal.

Filing taxes feels like defusing a bomb with instructions in a language you don’t speak. Credit Karma at least color coded the wires

Totally understand the hesitation i was in the same boat last year. Took the leap and it worked out fine. Just make sure to read everything closely and you’ll be good
