Voided Checks for a job 2025

I just started a new job and they need a voided check to set up direct deposit for my paychecks.

The issue is I don’t have a checkbook and won’t be able to get one in time. I did some digging and found out that some banks can give you a voided check or something similar that works for this purpose.

Has anyone done this before or know how it works?

You don’t need an actual check! Most banks can give you a direct deposit form with your routing and account number on it. I did this with Chase and it worked just fine

Opening a bank account feels surprisingly uneventful. You kind of expect it to be a big deal, but it ends up being all about creating passwords and clicking through terms and conditions.

Yep i just went through this. Asked Chase for a direct deposit form and they printed one out with all my info...routing, account, the works. HR was totally fine with it.

Totally normal! Most banks can give you a Direct Deposit Authorization Form or a counter check. Just pop into your branch or check your banking app.
