I received a settlement offer from MRS BPO LLC for an old medical bill I completely forgot about (around $1,400). They're willing to settle for a mere $450, which sounds amazing! However, before I jump at this opportunity, some red flags are giving me pause.
The online portal mentions the settlement is for the "past-due balance" only. There's a tiny disclaimer buried in the fine print stating this doesn't cover "any remaining past-due or currently due balances." What does that even mean? Could there be additional hidden fees I'm not aware of? Nowhere in the offer does it explicitly mention "pay for delete."
$450 is a tempting offer, but the lack of clarity in the terms and the absence of a "pay for delete" guarantee make me hesitant. I don't want to pay this off only to have it linger on my credit report or discover additional unexpected fees.
Has anyone dealt with MRS BPO LLC before, particularly regarding settlement offers? Did settling actually remove the debt from your credit report? Any advice on navigating these hidden terms and getting clarification before moving forward would be greatly appreciated!
