Hey everyone, my uncle just got slapped with a collection notice from them for a supposed $700 cable bill. Here's the thing: he hasn't had cable in years, ever since he switched to streaming services.
Apparently, there must be some kind of mistake, a case of mistaken identity maybe? But this whole debt collection business is stressing him out, and it's definitely not helping his already not-so-stellar credit score.
He's been tossing around the idea of hiring a credit repair service to fight this and clean up his credit report. The problem is, there are so many companies out there, and it's hard to know which ones are legit and which ones are just scams. If my uncle decides to go the credit repair route, are there any services that have a good track record handling situations with LJ Ross Associates specifically?
Maybe before hiring someone, my uncle should contact LJ Ross Associates himself and try to dispute the debt directly. Is that the best course of action?
This whole situation is a headache, and we want to help my uncle get his credit score back on track. Any advice or recommendations from folks who've dealt with LJ Ross Associates or credit repair in general would be a lifesaver!
