Ink Plus Business Card – Why Doesn’t It Get More Attention?

It feels like the Ink business cards don’t get nearly as much discussion as some of the other major credit cards, and I’m not sure why.

Just this month, the Ink Unlimited was offering a 90,000-point welcome bonus, and the Ink Preferred is currently sitting at a 100,000-point SUB plus it unlocks transfer partners through Ultimate Rewards, which is a huge value if you know how to use them.

On top of that, there’s a 40K referral bonus, which makes it really appealing if you’re doing a player two strategy and referring your partner.

Outside of the higher spend requirements to hit the bonuses, am I missing something about why these cards don’t seem more popular? I applied recently and was approved without much hassle even though I don’t run a “real” business. My credit score is over 800 and I have a $100K income, so maybe that helped, but it still seemed surprisingly easy.

You’d be surprised how many people assume they can’t get business cards. I’ve referred 4 friends this year who are Etsy resellers or do freelance work on Fiverr, and they all got approved.
You don’t need to overthink it. If you make money doing anything, Chase will likely be okay with it.

Bro, the 40K referral bonus alone made me cackle. I did a referral chain with my partner and then my sister. That’s 80K for doing nothing but clicking a link.
Chase out here printing URs like it’s 2020 again

I used to work at a big box bank (not Chase), and we were trained to not push business cards to the average customer. Most people don’t even know they exist or think they’re for corporations.
Education is the issue, not the card value.

I think the spend requirement is the real barrier. A lot of personal cards ask for $3K or $4K in 3 months. These Ink cards are more like $6K. Not everyone can hit that.
Great value but you gotta plan.

Honestly i think it’s a branding problem. Ink Plus doesn’t scream like Sapphire Reserve or Amex Platinum
If Chase renamed it to something like Chase Business Ultra it would probably double the buzz.

I’m just a guy who flips sneakers on StockX and got approved with no issues. I just listed my SSN and said sole proprietorship
If you think you can’t get this card, think again.

I feel like Ink cards live in this weird in-between space. Not as glamorous as premium travel cards, but not as beginner friendly as cashback cards
It’s like the sleeper hit of the points world. Not everyone gets it.

The fact that you can combine Ultimate Rewards between personal and business accounts makes this card even more powerful. I dump my Ink Unlimited points into my Sapphire Reserve.
Free airport lounge lunches never tasted so good

The 5/24 rule might be killing the hype. People don’t want to waste a 5/24 slot on a business card unless they’re deep in the game.
Even though business cards don’t even count against 5/24... It’s just one of those Reddit myths that won’t die.

You nailed it with the player 2 strategy. My spouse and i looped 3 Ink cards with referrals. We got something like 420,000 points across both of us
Chase needs to chill before I never pay for flights again

I wonder if it's a Reddit bubble thing. In other forums, business cards are discussed more. Here, it’s mostly CSP, Amex Gold, and Flex.
Maybe it’s just the demographic? Younger folks tend to prefer personal cards.

They don’t get more attention because they require a bit of research. People like plug-and-play stuff, not transfer partners and spend tracking.
But if you’re willing to learn, these cards are a gold mine

Been churning for 3 years. My favorite combo: Ink Cash for 5x office supply (hello gift cards), Ink Unlimited for unbonused spend, and CSP for redemptions
I basically never use a personal non-bonus card anymore.

Used the 100K SUB to book Emirates first class from JFK to Milan. Transferred UR to Emirates, paid a tiny surcharge, and boom $5K flight for free
These cards are slept on hard.

Do they still offer the 0% APR for 12 months? That’s been clutch for front-loading advertising spend for my Etsy store
Used the points to cover a wedding flight too.

Yeah but to be fair the UI on Chase Biz accounts is kinda janky. I can see why people don’t bother if they’re not deep into this game
Amex wins on user experience hands down.

Funny thing is, I learned about Ink cards from Reddit last year. Maybe the cycle is just slowpersonal card talk always dominates Q1 and Q2.
Maybe business cards get their hype in Q4 when spend bonuses matter?

I think it’s just overshadowed by the Chase Trifecta (Freedom Flex, Freedom Unlimited, Sapphire Preferred/Reserve). Most new churners get sucked into personal cards first.
But yeah, the 90K SUB on Ink Unlimited is nuts. $900 in cashback or $1,125 in travel if you hold a Sapphire card. Underrated gem!
