Credit Repair Company New Jersey

I’m in New Jersey and looking for a legit credit repair company to help clean up a few negative items on my report (old collections, charge-off). Trying to avoid scams or monthly fees with no results.

Has anyone worked with a trustworthy company in NJ or had success with DIY methods like pay-for-delete or goodwill letters?

Been there. Used Lexington Law years ago, got nowhere. Ended up doing it myself with goodwill letters and disputes. Saved money, got results. Just takes patience.

Hard agree. DIY is underrated...i used the CFPB sample letters to challenge stuff, and Equifax folded like a cheap chair

Not gonna lie i think most credit repair companies are just legalized scams with better logos. Proceed with caution.

If you're near Newark, check out Credit Saint. My cousin used them and they cleared 3 charge-offs in 6 months. Not cheap tho

legally no company can promise to remove accurate negative info. If they do, run. That’s straight from the FTC.

I'm in Jersey too. Did pay-for-delete with Portfolio Recovery and it actually worked. Had to call like 3 times but worth it.

I mailed 12 goodwill letters and got 1 success. Still worth it IMO. Stamps are cheaper than monthly credit magic fees.

Check out Safeport Law .... they’re actually based in NJ and offer flat-fee services instead of sketchy subscriptions

Anyone tried Ovation Credit? Thinking of giving them a go but their reviews are mixed.

Not a company but NJ Citizen Action offers free financial counseling. They helped my mom dispute a bogus medical bill.

If you want someone to just walk you through it once....i’d recommend a local credit union advisor. They’re often free.
