Best online tax software for filing with any expert review?

I’m searching for an online tax filing software that lets me handle most of the process myself but also offers an option for an expert review before I submit. I want to make sure everything is accurate, especially when it comes to deductions and credits.

Ideally, I’m looking for a platform that’s user-friendly, provides clear guidance and doesn’t sneak in hidden fees for extra services.

Has anyone used a service like this? Which one would you recommend for a smooth, error-free filing experience?

As someone who’s self-employed

I’ve found that most tax software just doesn’t handle 1099 income very well.

They tend to miss important details like home office deductions and other business expenses which can make a big difference in what you owe.

I’ve used TurboTax Live Assist before and it sounds exactly like what u are looking for. You do most of it yourself then an expert reviews your return at the end. Definitely gave me peace of mind with deductions.

Consider TurboTax Live Assisted which is intuitive for self filing yet provides easy access to expert reviews to confirm deductions and credits before submission, ensuring accuracy without sacrificing independence.

Check out H&R Block Onlineas it let you file yourself but offer expert review if needed. Just watch out for upsells! If u want a budget friendly option then FreeTaxUSA has an affordable expert assist add-on.

I used H&R Block Online last year, and their Expert Review option was super helpful as it gave me peace of mind before filing. TurboTax Live Assist is another good one but it can get pricey depending on your tax situation. If u want something more budget friendly then i must say FreeTaxUSA offers an affordable expert review add-on.

Filing taxes used to really stress me out and being self-employed now means i can’t afford to slip up. i used H&R Block’s online software and the tax pro was super patient even when i worried over every single line. They spotted a home office deduction, and i was so grateful.

My husband and i switched to H&R Block Online after years of using TurboTax because of the pricing creep. The expert review was solid and they answered all our questions.

TaxSlayer Self Employed worked well for me as a freelancer. i handled everything and then paid a bit extra for a CPA to review it before submission. totally worth it for me

I have been in your shoes! I had no idea what i was doing my first time filing with investments. TurboTax helped but it was pricey. Credit Karma was free but lacked support

I use H&R Block because it gives me nostalgia for when my parents dragged me to a physical location as a kid. Now I get to do it online

Honestly i feel like these expert reviews are just AI-generated responses dressed up with a fancy title. has anyone actually had a real human go through their return?

Used FreeTaxUSA for 4 years. It’s no-frills and affordable but it doesn’t have expert review. If u r confident and just want to file cheap, it's golden. But if u are nervous, maybe not the one.

H&R Block Online has a similar feature. The interface is clean and they offer a Tax Pro Review option where a real CPA or EA will go over your return before you file

TurboTax does exactly that. U can do everything yourself and then have a CPA review it before filing. Costs a bit more but peace of mind was worth it for me when i had freelance + W2 stuff.

Honestly H&R Block’s online version is criminally underrated. Super clean UI and u can chat with a tax pro at any point. no upsell spam either.
