A friend of mine works at a company that deals with things like tradelines credit sweeps, and credit repair. He says they’re getting more customer inquiries than they can handle so they want to hire someone new and he’s encouraging me to join. According to him, he’s making really good money and thinks it would be a great opportunity for me.

The thing is i don’t know much about this industry especially when it comes to what's legal and what’s kind of in a gray area. I’d really appreciate it if anyone here could help me understand more or answer some questions about how this business works.

Tbh if u learn the ropes the right way, you could make a lot of money ethically. Just avoid companies that promise overnight credit fixes.

Tradelines can be legal, like being added as an authorized user on a credit card. But the way some folks sell them? That's skating thin ice with the FTC

I’m in legit credit repair ..dispute errors, help clients build credit, educate on financial literacy. No fake tradelines, no nonsense. U can do this ethically but you’ll make less than the shady dudes.

Nah not always. I paid to be added to a tradeline and my score jumped 60 pts. Just gotta be careful and work with legit providers.

I actually used to work in tradelines. It's totally legal to add authorized users to your credit card for a fee as long as you r upfront and not guaranteeing outcomes. But yeah some people push the envelope...

Honestly if u r good with people and ethical, there’s a need for legit repair specialists. Plenty of consumers don’t know how to dispute properly. You can genuinely help people... just do it above board.

I worked in credit repair for 2 years. It can be a great gig, but you need to really understand the FCRA and FDCPA. If your friend can't explain how what they're doing aligns with those, red flag 🚩

I tried doing credit repair part time through a course I found on Udemy. Legit stuff only. Made a few hundred a month on the side. It’s not hard but it’s definitely not get rich quick

Tradelines = credit accounts. Some companies rent old authorized user accounts to boost your score. It’s legal but some lenders hate it and flag it as credit manipulation.

It’s just a fancy term for any account on your credit report. Like your credit cards, loans, etc. Some people rent seasoned tradelines to boost credit fast..very gray area legally.

I used to do intake calls for a credit repair firm. Some of the people we helped were truly in a hole and just needed guidance. Others wanted us to erase legit debt from a week ago 😬. Be prepared for all types

Check their business license, Google reviews, BBB complaints and whether they’re bonded. All credit repair orgs are supposed to register in many states.

I actually run a credit repair agency legally. We work under CROA guidelines and use dispute processes with documentation. You can make good money...but u have to play by the rules.

Look into dispute resolution as a service. Thats the bread and butter of legit credit repair. Sending letters to remove inaccurate items from reports. You won't get rich fast but it's steady work and helps people.
